Yes, completely. You will be able to set your machine in the cabinet and SEW.
I build a pallet the same size as the cabinet. I place the cabinet on the pallet and cover it with two layers of 1” Styrofoam. I cover that in cardboard – and then shrink-wrap it all to the pallet. It will only be moved with a forklift or pallet jack.
The average sewing cabinet is about 220 lbs., and the average quilter cabinet is about 300 to 340 lbs.
I load them on the freight truck with a tractor with front-end forks. The freight company unloads and loads in the terminal with a forklift. I pay for delivery in a truck with a lift gate. The delivery driver will use a pallet jack to roll the cabinet to the lift gate, lower it to the street, and then roll it into your garage.
If you have a couple of friends with strong backs, this is a good time to call them. All cabinets are on casters and will roll once off the pallet, but they will need a little help crossing thresholds, etc. They can be carried – my helper and I move them around the shop – but they are heavy.
I have always suggested a local moving company. You can usually get a local mover with experience handling heavy furniture to come for a small fee, uncrate it, and place the cabinet wherever you want it.
Yes! I have shipped many cabinets to a local mover, so they can make the final delivery. That is a very easy way to get it done.
We aim to deliver your custom cabinet within 30 days. After receiving your order, we typically begin construction within 10 days, followed by a 7-day build process. Once completed, the cabinet is stained and the finish is allowed to cure for 2-3 days before being crated and shipped. Delivery usually takes 4-5 days.

While we provide a stain color chart, it may not always be completely accurate. For a better representation, view our gallery to see finished cabinets in various stain colors. Viewing actual cabinet photos offers a more realistic idea of how the color will look in your space.
Yes! If you have a particular color in mind, we can custom mix stains to closely match it. You can also visit Home Depot or Lowe’s to choose a color, and we’ll do our best to create a similar finish for your cabinet.
From workshop to workspace
Step 1: Contact Custom Sewing Cabinets.
Step 2: Design your cabinet or choose a standard model. We will create a CAD drawing of your ideas.
Step 3: We begin work. We choose quality wood, cut with precision, begin to assemble.
Step 4: If you haven’t already, choose a stain color. Then we will stain and finish your cabinet.
Step 5: We package it up and send it to you!
